Captain Rick’s Diving Adventures focus on safe diving practices with in-depth education on dive theory, dive physics and dive physiology.
The Academic classes are held through the e-Learning Course plus full lecture on each chapter. The e Learning includes nine online chapters, small quizzes after each chapter, and a final online exam after the completion of the course. Lectures will be held in the classroom with your instructor for in-depth clarification and questions which can be done at any time convenient for you.

Enroll them in our Snorkel or Scuba Camps that puts them in the water with a seasoned professional who understand their needs.

Our camp is an introductory course that puts kids in child size SCUBA gear, and then under water we go! No prior experience diving is necessary. A brand new mask and snorkel are provided to each child, and are theirs to keep upon completion of the course. Kids will learn basic safety skills and will dive under the supervision of our trained professionals. Kids ages 8-16 are encouraged to attend. Kids ages 10 & up can earn a full SCUBA Diving Certification, so this course prepares them for that adventure. And, completion of KIDS SCUBA & SNORKEL MINI CAMP event also earns each child a $25 discount on their SCUBA diving certification course when they are ready to attend. Call for more details

Try Scuba Diving

Try Scuba Diving! It’s your opportunity to discover the magical world of colorful fish and living reefs in crystal clear blue and warm water - Scuba Diving! There’s nothing like it. Scuba Diving is much easier than you think and Try Scuba Diving will prepare you to participate in this new sport that awaits you. Dive into a whole new world.

The Try Scuba portion of the program is designed to simply introduce you to scuba diving in a pool or confined water. Once you complete your pool or confined water training, continue your adventure in the open water by continuing in the Passport Scuba Diver Program.

Passport Diver

Passport Scuba Diver certification is completing the required open water dives with a NAUI Instructor. Upon successful completion, you may continue to enjoy scuba diving under the direct supervision of a NAUI Instructor or dive leader for up to 12 months. Engaging in such activities during the initial 12-month period automatically extends your passport for an additional 12 months. NAUI Passport Scuba Divers are qualified to participate in supervised dives in conditions similar to those in which they are trained.

Refresher Course

We offer two refresher options for certified divers who would like to polish their skills, as follows:

You may spend 2 hours in the pool to review your skills, while directly supervised and assisted by one of our certified staff instructors. We provide all SCUBA gear, air fills, and a heated indoor pool for a fee of $100.

You may participate in any of our scheduled NAUI or PADI open water SCUBA courses (which include all academics as well as pool skills), by selecting our “full refresher” option. We provide all SCUBA gear, air fills, and a heated indoor pool for a fee of $300.00.

You will receive and in-depth education on dive theory, dive physics and dive physiology. Pool Training Sessions

The pool training sessions are designed to help you enjoy a smooth transition into the underwater world. These sessions help you relax and have fun in the water using scuba equipment. All this is accomplished with your instructor by your side. We will have plenty of time to cover all scuba skills and gain proficiency in scuba techniques. There will be five confined water sessions. Additional sessions can be added if needed.

All four of your open water check-out dives will be done in one of several locations in Ohio or off the shores of South Florida. On these dives you will confidently demonstrate scuba skills that were practiced in the pool. You will not be asked to do anything that you have not already practiced in the pool.

Combination course for Open Water Course and Enriched Air Nitrox Course price is $495

Advanced Open Water Certification Course

Explore new dive sites and undertake exclusive activities under the supervision of Captain Rick's Diving Adventure Instructor. This course allows individuals to learn about specialties and diving activities of particular interest. Your confidence and skill as a diver will increase while you experience the excitement of learning more about the underwater world.

During training, students complete a minimum of six open-water dives, including three separate dives for navigation, night or low visibility diving, and deep diving (130 feet/40 meters of maximum depth), plus three additional dives based on your individual preferences and available options.

This will help the student become a more rounded diver. This course takes place in South Florida and Ohio.

Enriched Air Nitrox Certification Course

Few things have revolutionized recreational diving in the past decade as much as the introduction of Enriched Air Certification, Nitrox (EANx). During this course, you will learn how to choose the proper blend of Nitrox for your dive profile, determine maximum depth limits for your Nitrox mixture, analyze your breathing mixture, and plan and safely execute each dive. Your instructor will teach you about the physiology of oxygen and nitrogen; advantages, disadvantages, and risks of nitrox; oxygen toxicity; hazards and precautions of handling oxygen; the concept of Equivalent Air Depth; use of EANx with standard Air Dive Tables; common gas mixing procedures; and more.

First Aid, CPR and Oxygen Administration

WE provide training in First Aid, CPR, AED, Bloodborne Pathogens, Oxygen Administration and First Aid for Hazardous Marine Life Injuries. All training complies with the latest International Liaison Committee on Resuscitation (ILCOR) standards.

In addition to meeting NAUI requirements for leadership and dive safety, NAUI training is recognized by the US Coast Guard for meeting the requirements for a US Captain’s Licensing. Certification at the professional rescuer level is also required for all active NAUI leaders and instructors and rescue divers. With NAUI first aid training, you are not only among the best trained divers in the world, you will also be among the best prepared to respond in the unlikely event of a diving emergency or accident.

Rescue Scuba Diver / Advanced Rescue Diver

The Rescue Diver Course is designed to develop the necessary knowledge and skills for individuals to perform diver rescues and assists, manage diving accident situations, render proper first aid and qualify for Divemaster training. Rescue Diver training is an important step in expanding a diver’s knowledge beyond a purely recreational level.

Expand your diving knowledge with a NAUI Rescue Scuba Diver or NAUI Advanced Rescue Scuba Diver course. Learn how to manage risks and effectively handle limited in-water problems and diving emergencies, how to assist and transport divers, and how to perform surface rescues and rescues from depth involving both boat and shore based skin and scuba divers.

CPR and First Aid certifications are required to complete this course. Your Rescue Scuba Diver training moves you on your pathway to becoming a NAUI Leader as a Skin Diving Instructor, Assistant Instructor, Divemaster, or Instructor.
